Microsoft Edge stable version released in the Google Play Store

Great news for Microsoft fans using Android devices, as the company's Edge browser is now available for download in the Google Play Store. Up until early today, Android users could only install the preview version of Microsoft Edge, which coincidentally got a small update yesterday that  added a Dark Theme and password syncing . Less than 24 hours after the said update, Microsoft released the final version of Edge in the Google Play Store. If you haven't used the beta build yet, here are a couple of things that Microsoft Edge can do on Android. First off, it can sync your favorite websites across devices, so that you can continue to read them from where you left off no matter what device you have with you. It has a QR code reader, voice search feature, and the so-called Hub View. International Apparel and Textile Fair to be held at the Dubai World Trade Centre between November 1 and 3

A 100-member delegation from  textile and garment industry  would be visiting the  United Arab Emirates  next month. Federation of Indian Export Organisation Chairman  A Sakthivel  would be leading the business delegation to take part in the  International Apparel  and Textile Fair to be held at the Dubai World Trade Centre between November 1 and 3, a press release said. During the visit, the traders would be displaying fashion readymade and fashion garments at the Indian pavilion. Currently, India's textile and garment export is focused to Europe and United States markets. By the participation in the trade fair, "FIEO envisages to serve major GCC countries directly", it said. The United Arab Emirates ranks third in the world in terms of textile exports. It is also the fourth largest trading centre for fashion and apparel, it said.

Garment exporters demand restoration of pre-GST rates

"The average duty drawback that we were getting per-GST was 11.5 percent and the Remission of State Levies (ROSL) was an average of 3.5 percent. Post GST, the average drawback has come down from 11.5 percent to 2.25 percent" Garment exporters demanded the restoration of duty drawback and Remission of State Levies (ROSL) rates to pre-GST levels, claiming that a whopping six million jobs may be lost in the sector if urgent remedial measures were not taken. India's apparel exporters are facing intense competition from countries like Bangladesh, Pakistan and Vietnam, owing to lower competitiveness. "Last week, the government has been very magnanimous in increasing the ROSL from the 0.39 percent which was announced in July to 1.7 percent, but we are still short of the 3.7 percent which we were getting earlier," said Sudhir Sekhri, Chairman, Garment Exporters Association. GST collections in October decline to Rs 83,346 crore

India’s goods and services tax collections fell to Rs 83,346 crore in October, from more than Rs 90,000 crore in each of the first three months after the new tax regime was rolled out on July 1.  A finance ministry statement attributed the lower collections to the release of state and central GST out of integrated GST (IGST) paid in the first three months, reduction in taxes and payment of GST based on self-declared tax return.

Google doodle honours V Shantaram on his 116th birth anniversary. The doodle depicts three of the filmmaker and producer’s most popular films. The Google Doodle on Saturday honoured renowned Marathi filmmaker Shantaram Rajaram Vankudre, also known as V Shantaram, on his 116th birth anniversary. The versatile film personality was born on November 18, 1901, in Maharashtra’s Kolhapur district. Shantaram, fondly known as Annasaheb, is known for films such as Dr Kotnis Ki Amar Kahani (1946), Amar Bhoopali (1951), Jhanak Jhanak Payal Baaje (1955), Do Aankhen Barah Haath (1957), Navrang (1959), Duniya Na Mane (1937) and Pinjra (1972).
